About Swiss Federal Railway (SBB)

SBB is the backbone of the Swiss public transport system, and day-to-day rail operations are the basis of what they do. SBB has been transporting people and freight for more than a 100 years. By doing so, they are making an important contribution to the quality of life and competitiveness in Switzerland.

SBB wants to continue this successful story, even in times when the entire economy and society, including the mobility industry, are undergoing profound changes. They will therefore continue to fulfill their responsibility towards public transport and Switzerland in future (Digital transformation at SBB) .

SBB sees digitisation’s potential primarily on three levels: improving interaction with customers, increasing internal efficiency and capacity management. Concrete digital solutions on all of these levels are managed with an overarching programme. In addition, the programme supports digital innovation and creates transparency in the company’s growing digital maturity.
