About Deane Barker
Deane has spent most of the last 20 years working with, researching, writing, and speaking about content technologies. He is obsessed with managing, organizing, and delivering digital content.
Deane is a founding partner of Blend Interactive -- a development and consulting firm, specializing in web content management. They implement about a dozen different content management systems and technologies, and consult with clients on difficult content problems.
In 2016, O'Reilly Media published his first book: "Web Content Management: Systems, Features, and Best Practices." In 2019, Deane also published Real World Content Modeling.
For the last 13 years, he has actively blogged about content management and related topics at Gadgetopia. That collection of writing represents a comprehensive record of the nearly two decades Deane has spent working in this space, and of his professional evolution during that time. If you are interested in following his work and thinking, you should consider subscribing to his Squirrel Notes newsletter.
Deane is also a member of the CMS Expert Group. Here’s a brief post he shared on LinkedIn after about 10 years of membership: If you're in the CMS or DXP space, you should join us.
