About Too Good To Go
Too Good To Go was created in 2015 in Denmark by Thomas Bjørn Momsen, Stian Olesen, Klaus Bagge Pedersen, Adam Sigbrand and Brian Christensen. In 2017, Mette Lykke (co-founder of Endomondo) joined as CEO.
The purpose of Too Good To Go is to reduce food waste worldwide enabled by a mobile application that connects restaurants and stores that have unsold, surplus food, with customers who can then buy whatever food the outlet considers surplus to requirements—without being able to choose—at a much lower price than normal. The food on the app is priced at one-third its original price. This initiative helps to reduce the waste of food that would otherwise be discarded;
Food waste is a global problem that affects the environment. In 2023, we saved 121,686,720 meals across our Surprise Bags, Parcels and Products, a huge 46% more than in 2022. Saving so many meals has meant avoiding nearly 100 billion litres of unnecessary water being used and 328,554 tonnes CO2e from entering the Earth’s atmosphere. That’s the equivalent of over 57,000 passengers flown around the world.
